From the initial concept and design to the manufacturing and selling of the machine, each and every machinery that Hyster markets would go through a nine stage development process. Each stage of the development process has been created to ensure product quality over the lifetime of the machine. Hyster testing centers are able to simulate the life cycle of a forklift to ensure that the machine performs as intended and that it lasts.

In order to be certain that we know what all our clients truly want, Hyster performs a lot of research regarding customer requirements. All this research is then utilized to the products design. Designs are built using cutting edge computer aided design techniques that help to reduce the risk of weak points and ensure that positioning of each part is optimal for both service needs and performance. After that, prototypes are built in cooperation with professionals and specialists in compartment design and ergonomics. Every prototype and component is put through thorough life cycle testing to pick up on and correct any problems which can reduce the life of a component or a machine to a less than optimal level. When a machinery comes out of the testing stage of development, we want to be certain that it will work to a high standard. Testing in real life settings is also carried out so that we could collect more information on the performance of the machinery and be confident that it will meet the standards required to complete the task.
